This year, Team Revolution has a lot to be thankful for.  Our 47 athletes, mainly from Michigan but also across the country, participated in well over 100 races representing our team.  This amazing group of mission athletes consists of runners, cyclists, swimmers, and triathletes, and this year, we brought in over $10,000 in donations that will primarily go towards supporting our mission trip and our mission partner:  Amazon Lifesavers.

In April, we had our Season Kick-off at the Adventist Community Service Center in Lansing, Michigan.  There was an optional group run, food, and a preview of what our year would look like.  We also encouraged our athletes to write out their fitness goals for the season.  We were excited to announce our title sponsor, Genstler Eye Center, and our other team sponsors, CAMPUS, Sterling State Bank, and ARISE/Lightbearers.  A huge thank you to these organizations for their support!

Before the season began, Tennille Shin and Judy Ramos took a trip to Brazil to meet with the directors of Amazon Lifesavers, an Adventist ministry that reaches out to the river-dwellers living along the Amazon basin.  At the Kick-off, Tennille shared a mission report and the exciting details of our mission partnership.  Our team is planning to go on a mission trip to the Amazon next year during the week of Thanksgiving.  The goal of this trip is to provide physical and spiritual nourishment to those in need.  Here is a video tutorial they made from their trip.

During our TR season, athletes proudly wore their uniforms at the races of their choice.  They also had the option of creating their own donation pages via our team website if they wanted to find race sponsors.  Throughout the season, we had team events ranging from training workshops to team races.  All carried a common thread and that was to promote fitness for witness.

Among our team athletes, we had some who reached an admirable fitness landmark by completing their first race ever.  Others did us proud by making it on the podium.  But each of our athletes is special and unique because they possess a heart for missions.

This past month, we had our End of Season Bash, at the East Lansing University Church in Michigan.  Here, we revisited our fitness goals to see how far we’ve come throughout the season, we gave final updates on the season, and a few special awards were given.  It was a great way to wrap up a season of training and racing with good food and fellowship.

Now, we have entered the off-season.  That means slowing down the training and racing until next spring.  However, we cannot conclude this report without a very special thanks to our team owner, Bonders.  Thank you for being an Adventist ministry that thinks outside the box.  We are happy to represent you!

For anyone who is interested in joining Team Revolution for next season, we’d love to have you.  Here is an INTEREST FORM you can fill out and we will get in touch with you.  We welcome endurance athletes of any level who have a heart for missions.
