Social Change Wishlists, partnering with GYC Studies

During the weekend of February 1-3, 2013 a conference on social justice will be held at Camp Au Sable, Graying, Michigan. It is a co-sponsored initiative by GYC and CAMPUS called GYC Studies. Among the presenters are three of our athletes: Sikhu Hlatshwayo, Israel Ramos, and Tennille Shin. In collaboration with GYC Studies, Team Revolution will be holding a collection drive onsite Saturday evening for various causes.

February 20th is also The UN’s World Day of Social Justice. In light of this, please review the below causes with their wishlists and consider how you can help. Look around your house. Ask your friends. The items may be gently used unless otherwise specified. Even if you will not be attending the conference, you still have an opportunity to donate. Simply email

Thank you in advance for giving to these amazing causes. You are making a difference for Jesus’ sake.

– any school supplies

– children’s multivitamins

– first aid supplies

– children’s clothing/shoes

GYC Intermission will be partnering with the Pennsylvania Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in ministering to the social, spiritual, and physical needs of the community.  One project will place homeless people in permanent homes.  We will be collecting basic supplies to help these individuals get settled:

For women around the world, having a bra not only provides professional & social decency, it can prevent various different health problems.  A bra can help alleviate back strain in larger women.  In humid climates rashes, fungal infections and abscesses occur between the breast and the chest wall.  Bras help by allowing air circulation. Nursing mothers everywhere leak, and bras allow the dignity of a dry shirt, and the comfort of support.  A thrush rash on a mother’s skin may spread to her baby’s mouth, and then back into the breast itself.  A mastectomy bra offers privacy about the problem.  Team Revolution will be collecting gently-used bras for women in Kenya.

Wishlist: Bras of all colors, shapes, & sizes!
